New Business

Quick & Easy Sales Process

  1. Complete the appropriate ATHENE MaxRate application. Original application packages are required. Out of state sales for NY residents are not permitted.
  2. Complete the annuity suitability form in full.
  3. Present and have your customer sign the appropriate product disclosure statement. Leave one copy with the customer. The other signed copy should be submitted with the application package.
  4. Check if any other forms are required to complete transaction.
  5. Complete all required forms accurately and in full.
  6. Submit your business to Athene.
  7. We issue the contract when...
    1. all point-of-sale paperwork is in good order; and
    2. the minimum premium amount is received, unless requested by the producer.
  8. Contracts are mailed to the producer for delivery to the customer.

Large Case Approvals

Our large case approval process is intended to provide timely service while allowing the company to thoroughly assess risk on a case-by-case basis before the producer submits an application. Large case review will be available on cases with over $1 million of premium written on the life of a single owner. Subject to a full suitability review, this approval will increase the likelihood of Athene accepting the submitted case.

How the process works.

  • The producer or marketing company must complete the Large Case Approval Form and submit it to our Special Handling mailbox at SpecialHandling@athene.com.
  • We will conduct an internal analysis to make sure the case can be accepted. The criteria include, but are not limited to:
    • Case size
    • Age of the owner
    • Amount of inforce with Athene Annuity NY compared to the owner's overall net worth
    • Whether the case includes a rider or is intended primarily for wealth accumulation
  • If additional information is required you will be notified by e-mail or phone.
  • Once we have completed our internal analysis our Special Handling Team will return a copy of the Large Case Approval Form to you by email. The form will include any clarifying notes and/or restrictions.

Please note: Commissions payable on premiums in excess of $2 million are subject to individual review and may result in a reduction in commissions or payment of commissions in several installments over a period of time. Once we have completed our internal analysis, our Special Handling Team will return a copy of the Large Case Approval Form to you by email. The form will include any clarifying notes and/or restrictions that may or may not include commission modifications.
